Hey Supermom, Welcome!

I’m Sarah — a proud mom of two, wife, industrial engineer by degree, and passionate home cook living in the heart of New York City.

If you had told me ten years ago that my greatest sense of peace, joy, and purpose would come from my kitchen, I probably would’ve raised an eyebrow from behind a spreadsheet. But life has a funny way of guiding us exactly where we need to be — even if the journey there includes a lot of bumps, reroutes, and, in my case, doctor visits.

You see, my love for cooking wasn’t born out of a childhood dream or culinary school training. It grew out of necessity. After years of unexplained pain, inflammation in my lower back, endless doctor visits, misdiagnoses, and medications that only made things worse — affecting my stomach, kidneys, and liver — I finally discovered the truth: I had an autoimmune condition.

That diagnosis was both a relief and a wake-up call.

During one of those restless nights researching anything that might help, I stumbled across a book that changed everything — Seignalet: Food, the 3rd Medicine. That was the beginning of my healing. Not overnight, not without setbacks — but slowly, with every meal I made from scratch, every ingredient I questioned, every plate I filled with intention and hope. Today, I’m in remission, and food was my turning point. That’s when the kitchen became more than a room — it became my sanctuary.

From Engineering to Everyday Healing

As an industrial engineer, I’ve always been drawn to structure, efficiency, and optimization. Funny enough, those same principles apply to cooking — especially as a busy mom. Now, instead of solving production puzzles, I’m solving the daily “what’s for dinner” challenge — making it fast, flavorful, and nourishing.

My blog, IAmSupermom.com, was born out of the desire to support other moms who are juggling full lives — the kids, the deadlines, the never-ending laundry — but still want to serve meals that truly care for their families. Meals that comfort and heal, without overcomplicating things.

What You’ll Find Here

Here, you’ll find recipes that are practical and deeply personal — inspired by my healing journey, but made for your real-life kitchen. Whether you’re navigating an autoimmune condition, trying to cut back on inflammatory foods, or just want dinner on the table without losing your mind, this space is for you.

You’ll find lots of quick, wholesome meals that fit into a family lifestyle — ones that don’t sacrifice flavor for health. And yes, sometimes I’ll throw in a batch of cheesy fries or a homemade ice cream recipe, because joy matters too. And because, let’s be honest, watching your kids light up over something you made with love? That’s its own kind of medicine.

Looking Ahead

I’m also working on my first cookbook — a collection of simple, healing meals with heart, straight from my kitchen. It’s a work in progress, much like motherhood itself, and I’m beyond excited to share it with you soon.

My Food Philosophy

I believe food should be healing without being restrictive, joyful without guilt, and fast without compromise. I lean into what’s fresh, seasonal, and anti-inflammatory — but I never forget that we’re human. We crave connection, celebration, and the occasional treat. Balance isn’t just a concept — it’s my kitchen motto.

So welcome, truly. Whether you’re here for a weeknight dinner idea, a bit of hope, or just a quiet moment with your coffee — I see you. You’re doing your best. And in case no one’s told you lately: that’s more than enough.

You are already a Supermom. I’m just here to cook beside you.
