Offline
I have not been blogging as often as I used to simply because I wanted to spend most of my time offline. A few months ago, I made a decision to limit the time I spend on Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites. I realized that when you are a stay-at-home mom, it is so easy to lose focus on the things that matter most. It is so easy to waste time. It is so easy to go with the flow and be unproductive. For me, that defeats the purpose of being a stay-at-home mom. I don’t want my kids to remember me as a mom who spends most of her time in front of the computer instead of being there for them. Yikes! That would be a disaster.
Now I only open my laptop whenever necessary (when I have writing tasks to finish and have a client on oDesk that needs my help — yes, I still make a little money while at home) and just check Facebook and Twitter updates on my cellphone whenever I feel like it without having the need to waste too much time. It works a lot better for me. And not to mention, I get to exercise discipline too.
We all know how social media kills productivity, so we have to make every conscious effort to stay away from things that can cause distractions.
But since blogging is my passion, I would like to update this blog at least once a week when I’m finally done ironing out my family’s schedule this year.
Let us use the Internet wisely. Have a pleasant day to all!

I agree with you. TOTALLY!!!
