It’s Hard to Obey, Mom!

Even though my son and I argue a lot at home, there’s never a day that we don’t kiss, hug and say “I love you” to each other. Just like my daughter, my little boy is also naturally sweet and has no issues expressing his love for us even in public (and I hope he stays this way forever! Hehe).

It’s just that most of the time he’s torn between obeying my instructions and doing things his way. Oh well, the latter usually happens! Haha!

I don’t blame him — it’s really hard to obey and do what’s right! In fact, even us adults struggle with it. Why? Because doing the right thing takes a lot of discipline, wisdom and self-denial.

Thank God we still have several years to train and discipline our children and I know that one day (by God’s grace), we will reap the fruit of our labor.

Parenting takes a lot of hard work (and HEARTwork if I may add) and builds our character, too.

Train up a child in the way he should go and even when he’s old, he will not depart from it.  -Proverbs 22:6

Me and my son sporting our sunnies under the scorching heat of the sun one afternoon in Tagaytay. It was his first time to ride a horse. Thanks for the shots, daddy!!! (To those looking for a pair of funky and cool sunglasses this summer, check out Julbo.)

He’s so sweet :) . Oh it really is much easier to disobey, I agree. Disciplining kids is hard work. But we got to do what we got to do, don’t we?
