Blessed Sunday #4: A little distracted
I have a confession to make.
I got a little distracted during the service a while ago. I tried to keep my focus on what Pastor Paolo’s teaching us about God and Government, but deep inside the movie fan in me kept screaming wildly. And why not?! Piolo Pascual was sitting behind us! And not only that, he was with Mark Bautista, Christian Bautista, Erik Santos, Jeffrey Hidalgo and other non-showbiz people. Then a few minutes later, KC Concepcion arrived and sat next to us. And just when I was trying to REALLY focus on that day’s message, Ruffa Gutierrez walked in and sat one row apart from us where her friend Miriam Quiambao was waiting. What a star-studded Sunday we had, eh? I felt like my heart was going to burst out of my chest! LOL.
I tried to keep my sanity intact and succeeded on hiding my excitement — that is if you’re taking it from other people’s perspective.
But who am I fooling?
I might have fooled the people around me but I could never fool myself, could I? After all, it’s not everyday that you get to sit next to a hoard of celebrity. I knew I got a little distracted. And for a second I almost forgot why I was in church in the first place: to worship God and to thank Him for all the blessings he’s given me. We’ve been regularly attending Sunday services at Victory Fort for quite a while now and I am used to seeing one or two celebrities after the service, which is perfectly fine. But to actually be surrounded by quite a number of celebrities during the service is another story. Talk about major distraction! LOL.
Oh well…if this has been a test, then I must have failed miserably. God, forgive me!
I remembered when we used to attend mass in Mount Carmel Church, ang dami ding nakakatabing celebrity. Although parang deadma lang at first, you can’t help but stare din minsan haha. Pero hindi lang naman mga artista ang nakaka distract, meron din ibang kasama or katabi sa upuan na chismisan ng chismisan, bulong ng bulong sa katabi. kaya nakakahiya mang aminin, bihira akong magsimba sa totoo lang.
Haha. Nakakahiya naman kung mag-tsismisan sa loob ng churck. Kakahiya kay Lord. Ako talagang iniiwasan ko tumingin kasi nakaka-distract eh. Pero etong time na ito, medyo nag-struggle talaga ako ng bongga! LOL.
LOL! I can’t blame you if you got a ‘little’ distracted. I would be, too. At least you were able to ‘fool’ those around you. Kung ako yan…kasehodang may makakita sa akin…I’d probably shriek! Hahaha….nah…I’d probably do what you did….

wee! I had fun reading your post. I admire how you talk about GOD and WORSHIPING. I always go to church and wondered if I can be one of those people who serve the church…
and, celebrities surrounding you?! that’s a real distraction. I think God will forgive you. hehe.

super miss ko na magchurch.. wala kasi akong time recently dahil may duty ako pag sunday.. sana naman magkaron ako ng sched na off ang sunday.. huhuhu..
was checking your email and I saw this post. hesitant pa ko to comment.. pano ang tagal tagal na ng post na ‘to..hehe.. pero nakakatuwa kasi ung post mo.. nakakadistract naman talaga kung you will be sitting next to a celebrity in your case ang dami pa nila..
